She didn't pause at all before exclaiming, "That's got to be exciting! But aren't you afraid you'll get hurt?" Had to give herself a little credit for that one. After all, she was a spy too... but laying low for now. Black had commanded it, until the White gave up on her. A bright smile, maybe a little too bright, stretched her lips.

A burst of laughter left him, and he grinned at her. It was the most alive he'd ever looked for anyone. "I'm not afraid of being hurt." How could he be? He was a Chaid'u, and the name brought more than just a past. "I'm afraid if I told you my name you'd run off on me..."

"A name is a name is a name," she replied, giggling. His laughter was infectious...and melodic. Combine that with how handsome he was, and the fact that he played the violin so beautifully... crap. Crush time. Miki felt like a schoolgirl, walking along the street with him. "You could tell me who you are, if you want to, I mean. I can keep a secret."

"Well...alright, only if you promise." He managed, and his eyes darted nervously around before he smiled at her again, nervous and uncertain. "My name's Duex, Duex Chaid'u." Ah, and here was when people ran off. Or looked at him like he was lying. Because the 'Chaidu's' had all been killed, except for Seven Chaid'u, who had supposedly died in a car crash.

"Duex..." she tried out the name, feeling it on her tongue, looking at him curiously. Of course she knew the story. It had been huge news... the man who named his children with numbers and trained them to become assassins. No one would say that and be lying. But he had been so kind and sweet to her. "I like it. But I can't deny I'm a little surprised to find out that you're one of the legendary Chaid'us... no wonder you're a spy."

He winced slightly, "I wish you wouldn't say it like that...It's a recent change of venue...I was a detective before..." He rubbed the back of his head awkwardly, eyes sad. Yeah...he made a great spy...his dad had made it so. "We're not exactly legendary...I mean...we were in the news 'cause our dad killed us."

Miki took his hand, twining her fingers with his. "I'm sorry. It's just... I don't know exactly what to say, Duex." She held onto him, watching his face, meeting those onyx-dark eyes. "If you thought that telling me your real name was going to scare me off, though... no. I think I like you. You're nice. No matter what, that doesn't change."

Looking to her hand, and then up to her face he managed a small smile. "I think your the only one to have said that..." Everyone else it was 'oh...your one of /them/' or 'you're trained, just join us already.' It was nice to have someone look past his name and past and see him. "Thank you, that means a lot to me."

Miki smiled widely. "I'm very pleased to meet you, Mr. Duex Chaid'u." She kept her voice down as she said the name, but bobbed her head in a mini-bow. "Watanabe Mikino. That's my full name." What harm could it do? There were thousands of Watanabes in the world, and hundreds of Mikis and Mikinos. Didn't matter.

"Likewise, mademoiselle." He said, smiling at her gently. This was perhaps one of the best days he'd had, besides finding both Seven and Tres alive. "Let's get some tea shall we?" They were now in front of the little cafe, and he pulled the door open for her.

Miki grinned at him, entering the small cafe and looking around, breathing deeply. The scent of coffee permeated the air, intoxicatingly smoky-sweet. She loved the smell of coffee, but never had been able to stand the flavor... or the milk in lattes. "What kind of tea do you like?" Slipping her hand into her pocket, she looked around musingly.

"English black tea." He said, grinning a bit sheepishly, "I'm a bit picky when it comes to tea." As most tea drinkers were, there was just different tastes for different people. Duex liked his simple, made it easy for him, and for the cafe workers. Two lumps of sugar, and that was all he required.

Black tea had never been one of her favorites, but growing up in Japan, she hadn't drunk much of it. "You're easy to please... I mean..." Miki stammered, then blushed. "That didn't come out at all the way I intended it." She always ordered green tea, no sugar, just the pure flavor of the tea enough to entice her senses by itself.

Chuckling again, Duex just smiled at her, "Surprisingly I'm only this easy on the decision of tea." He managed, following her inside once she'd gone in, letting the door close behind him. Tea was such a relaxing way to hang out with a new acquiescence, seeing as he wasn't ready to call her a friend.

"So what are you more picky about?" Miki teased him gently, moving toward the counter of the shop. "Music? I already know you've got great taste in that. Books? Movies? Other things?" Her eyes lit with a faint mischievous light that her brother would have recognized as 'flirty Miki'. Luckily he wasn't around... especially now that she knew Duex was a spy. Although if she'd known he was a member of the White, she probably would have realized that she should go.
